TWENTY FOURTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME                                                   (36/12)

The newly appointed Administrator for the Parish of Howth, Mgr. John Fitzpatrick, PP of Sutton Parish, will celebrate the 12 noon Mass this Sunday and will greet parishioners after the 7.00 p.m. Saturday Mass and the Sunday 8.30 a.m. Mass.

The Annual Collection for CROSSCARE—the Social Care Agency of the Dublin Diocese - will be made at all Masses NEXT weekend (22nd /23rd September)

It will replace the normal SHARE Collection

CROSSCARE is involved in a wide variety of social projects in the Archdiocese of Dublin.

Since it was founded 70 years ago CROSSCARE has continued to seek to redress poverty and social exclusion.

It continues to develop new and innovative programmes and to sponsor new research to help inform policies on combating poverty and exclusion.

In reaching out to those most in need CROSSCARE operates 11 programmes throughout the Diocese.

Ministers of the Word

There will be a meeting for all Ministers of the Word tomorrow evening, Monday, 17th September at 8.00 p.m. in St Columbanus Hall.  We hope to change the way in which rosters for Ministers of the Word are compiled and we will present the plan and the draft roster at the meeting.  To our Ministers of the Word a big thank you for all you do to enhance our celebration of the Eucharist at the weekday Masses and at the weekends.  If you are not a Minister of the Word but would like to find out more about becoming one please enquire in the Parish Office.  It would be lovely to have some more parishioners on the panel.

                                                                                                                 Mary Kirwin and Kay Burke

In aid of the Saint Francis Hospice, Raheny, on Thursday 20th September, in Saint Columbanus Hall from 10.00 a.m. until 12.30 p.m.

Tea/Coffee/Bumper Raffle with great prizes.  All welcome.

Following on from the International Eucharistic Congress and the great interest shown in adult faith development as well as the imminent Year of Faith (beginning October 11th), the parish in Sutton are exploring the possibility of starting up a Bible Study Group. The aim of the Group is to give people an opportunity to learn about Scripture and in so doing deepen their understanding of how the Word of God is alive and active in their lives.  The sessions will also give people an opportunity to meet in a relaxed friendly environment and support each other as they grow in faith together.  For further information, please contact James in Sutton Parish Office – Tel. 839 2001.

Please remember in your prayers THOMAS SWAN who died during the week.  We offer our sympathy to his family.  May he rest in peace.
