You shall be my Witnesses…”   Parish preparation for Confirmation programme
This week the first of four of the young peoples’ sessions of the above Parish preparation for Confirmation programme takes place.  It will be held in Scoil Mhuire at 7.30pm on Monday 14th March.  The young people are divided into four groups and two adult volunteers lead each group.  The leaders are Joe Caulfield, Joan Kelly, Anne McCarthy, Margaret Slattery and Joey Smith all parents of the Sixth class students and Aoife NicLughadha, Warick Sewell, Betty Sewell and Margaret Rickard all parishioners.  They have all undergone an Archdiocesan training programme and we wish them all well as they prepare for the sessions.   The first session deals with the Theme of Belonging.  Together the leaders and young people explore what it means to belong to the Church.  A question for each of us – How do I belong to my Church?
Valerie Darby and Kay Burke, Co-ordinators.

The initiative is to facilitate our youth in getting to know each other better, while at the same time exploring and expressing their Christian faith.  The youth age group will range from 12 to 16 year olds.
The walk will commence with registration, welcome and introduction at Sutton Methodist Church Hall, Church Road at 3.30 p.m.
The route will be along Church Road to St. Fintan’s Church, turning left and proceeding over the hill to end at St. Mary’s Parish Hall, Deerpark, Howth at about 6.30pm.  There, deregistration will take place to make sure the safe return of all our young participants.
All proceedings should conclude with a prayer of Thanksgiving at about 7.30pm.
Parental/ Guardian Consent Forms have now been prepared and will be made available to the 6th Class students in all the Primary/ National schools on the Peninsula for completed return.
Stewards will be on hand to monitor and guide our youth along the way, dedicated cars will patrol the route to assist any tired and weary and a doctor will be on call should the need arise.
